 The Avatar of War died.
Sunday, August 25, 2002 by Yaxa

AoW dead. CT too. A tie? Perhaps, but I'd rather like to call it the closest win in history. Him at 0%, no visible life left, 4 CT left in Kael, DoT kills AoW, enchanter gets solo exp. The droppable stuff is quickly being looted before the remaining raiders bite the dust. Congrats Leiel on the legs, Aubry on the mask, Raidan & Wan on the helmets!

NOTE: Because of the corpse being looted while everyone was dead, the above picture is not an actual screenshot of AoW's corpse. Just thought I'd mention, I know it's hard to distinguish...

 High Priest of Ssraeshza dead

We admittedly had some problems with this bugger in the past, but last night it just worked. Now I'm not going to jump the bandwagon and call it a "flawless" fight, because it wasn't. It was smooth. And it was our first try of the night. But most importantly, it was fun. Don't we all love dead snakes?

Other stuff that died:
  • Shei Vinitras
  • Grieg Veneficus
  • an acidic mass

No shot of Shei's loot, it's not worth mentioning ><

  • In the category better late than never I'd like to congratulate Sipher and Utanx on finally hitting level 60. Congrats Sorcerers!

     A night like no other

So we went to Icewell last night and dropped Dain twice so Udainn and Ucchan can finally continue working on their eigth shawls, when suddenly reports came in of our buddy Rhag 1 popping in Ssra. So after finishing the less than glorious second Dain fight we rush up to Luclin and work our way towards the Arch Lich, leaving the Rhags with their faces on the cold stone, when suddenly people start going LD en masse.

After a sufficient *cough* number of clerics gets back we engage AL. Two minutes into the fight the whole thing starts again, the chat server reportedly fills with masses of linkdead people - router problem. GM Olihil (biiig ohgur) pops in, cheering as the debuffers walk up the ramp, and commenting on possible new strategies (Manaburn time!). When we finally dropped AL (bitch of a fight), he cheers and hands out drinks and gnome sandwhiches.

Nothing special you say? Ayup... but suddenly GM Sanuraa appears. She had been doing reimbursements for poofed items for us earlier.

And people started screaming and laughing...

    You bet we did!

Thank you GM Olihil and GM Sanuraa for turning an average raid night into something none of us will ever forget! *bows*
